Color Trend: Bold Neon

Every season there's always a color that seems to take the spotlight. Whether it be nude, purple, navy blue or even.... NEON!

Designers like Jimmy Choo unveiled several neon pieces this season that are sure to add instant edge to any outfit. I'm not sure if it's because the look is hot right now and if my eyes have gotten  used to the shade, but neon pops of color are definitly a winner in my book. Of course, like any trend, you gotta know how to pull it off with the right choices.

Kim Kardashian has recently been spotted everywhere with her Hermes Birkin Bag in the color Kiwi.

Checkout the looks and pieces below incorporating the neon color trend:

Be Bold! Be Extraordinary!
Christopher Kane sheer shirt, $865
3.1 Phillip Lim pleated shorts, $113
Wedge boots, $865
Jimmy choo clutch, $
530

Annina Vogel gold chain pendant, $2,385

DIY: Ways For Styling A Flower Pin

It's the second most wonderful time of the year: Spring time, with Summer lurking right around the corner.
As usual there are a boat load of trends sweeping runways and streets to choose from: bold colorblocking, cargo pants, tassles, natural tones and feminine frills are just a few which have us fashionistas drooling at first sight.

Want to add some Spring or feminine touches to your look for cheap? Check out the video below for some really creative ways ideas, using a flower pin. I have one which I got free pinned to a Forever 21 cardigan, but you can also purchase cheap ones at your local stores.

Trend: Ropes & Tassles

Ropes and tassles have been used for adding details, but now they're taking center stage! Nothing screams 'Greek Godess' more then gold ropes.

Trend: Camel & Tan Tones

Now that the dark trends of Winter and Autumn have passed, it's time to lighten up.

Trend: Fitted Jumpsuits

Rompers and jumpsuits that where strictly made for toddlers are now a thing of the past. When they started making appearances on Red Carpets and parties, you must have guessed that this trend would be sticking around for some time.

Baggy and loose fitting versions of rompers where something I stayed away from, since they can look unflattering and "sack-like".
But after seeing this trend on designer runways, I think it's fair enough to not only describe them as chic, but elegant too.

Trend: Belt Purses a.k.a. Fanny Packs

You read it right! After receiving numourous slanderings for their unattractiveness, fanny packs have evolved into a chic version of their former self and are now even gracing runways.
Do you think belt purses (a.k.a.) fanny packs are back in fashion? Or do they deserve to be thrown away with all their ugly old versions from the 90's?

6 Fashion And Beauty Trends For 2011

Harper's Bazaar has made a compilation of their predictions for 2011 hottest trends to come, and here are a few of my favorite picks to look out for:

1. Must-Have Polish
Chanel's latest home-run nail shade (in 513 Black Pearl) is the equivalent of a shimmery smoky eye for the fingertips. We love its light-reflecting iridescent quality, which flatters all skin tones.

2. Tom Ford Returns
Tom Ford's highly anticipated comeback ushered in fabulous fashion. Get the look with his retro-futuristic shades.
3. Splashy Shoes
When Jimmy Choo celebrates, it's done in style. For its 15th anniversary, the brand has released a set of chic crystal-studded shoes.
4. The New It Girls
Here's a cheat sheet of the latest crop of pop culture's It girls: Ten-year-old Hollywood royal Willow Smith is rocking her way to the top, while up-and-coming French starlet Léa Seydoux is winning the hearts of audiences everywhere. Redheaded actress Jessica Chastain is a newbie on the film circuit. A-list arrivistes!
5. Scarlett Johansson's Bob
We're predicting Scarlett Johansson's modern, choppy bob will be the hottest cut of the spring season.
6. Neon Brights
Turn it on. Striking shades appeared everywhere, from the hot-pink lips at Jil Sander to the lacy acid ensembles at Christopher Kane.

Trend Alert: Black Sequined Dresses

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz debuted a new haircut last month, and it seems to have affected her wardrobe as well. Lately we've been seeing her in things like classic capes and ladylike ensembles. She was recently spotted wearing this sleevless black sequin dress at the Decades Denim launch party, paired with bold earrings, and patent round toe pumps.

Seems like black sequined dresses are going to be a hot trend for christmas attire and other cocktail events.
The look for less:

1. Sleeveless Sequin Dress $32.80 @ Forever 21

2. Fitted Sequin Tube Dress $44.50 (Now 50% off!) @ Charlotte Russe
3. Eric Daman Assymetrical Dress $49.50 @ Charlotte Russe
4. Sequin Dress $59.50 @ Delia's

Hot Fall Trend: Over The Knee Boots

Gahhh! Unfortunately I don't live anywhere where the seasons change or NYC, so I don't get to look forward enjoying Fall/Winter, and more specifiably all the fashions it brings along with it.

Even though I'd look silly wearing boots somewhere during tropical climates, I'm madly in love with leathery looking (cuffed of slouchy) over the knee boots. I blame the Kardashians for looking so freakin cute in them.

There's so many ways to style them, you can get one pair and just wear them all season long! Thigh high boots where in fashion last autumn too, but this year their slightly chunkier, which is great if you want to be able to walk all day in them or avoid slip and falls during the winter months:

Sexy and classy with thigh bearing dress

Feminine and posh with a coat

Edgy with distressed skinnies and leather jacket

Casual yet trendy with a scarf and jeans

With a cropped blazer and jeggings

Key Leather Picks For Fall By Nina Garcia

Newport News has partnered with Nina Garcia, Marie Claire Fashion Director and Project Runway Judge, who offers her take on how to incorporate leather looks into your fall wardrobe. Additionally, Garcia has selected this season’s standout leather pieces from The Leather Look Book.

These must-haves include a tailored leather girlfriend blazer (only $129), a jewel-toned leather motorcycle jacket ($159), a high-waisted leather pencil skirt ($104), a classic leather trench ($249), and a modern suede mini skirt ($69). Garcia’s picks are available in a wide range of colors, from classic neutrals like black and brown to statement hues such as teal, scarlet, pink, and violet.

1) GIRLFRIEND BLAZER
Leather was a huge classic trend that carried over from spring into fall this season. Not only has it become more day-appropriate, we are also seeing it in various options. One versatile alternative is Newport News’ Leather Girlfriend Blazer. It adds another dimension to your jeans and tee, or evening minidress!

2) RICH JEWEL TONES
Jewel tones are the easiest way to add color to your fall wardrobe.
From ruby-red tops to emerald skirts, Newport News has a great range!
A great investment piece is the motorcycle jacket, a quick way to add some
downtown feel to your outfit.

3) CHIC AND THE CITY
Chic city is all about looking polished and pulled together. Wear a structured jacket or dress to enhance your style. These pieces can go from day to evening by just adding accessories!

 4) MODERN ROMANCE
The nod to modern romance is a versatile trend for every day. You can add a scalloped open jacket over your blouse for the office, or wear a ruched side boot for an evening out. There are many choices to channel your inner romantic.

5) RUSTIC REFINED
The rustic trend is a little tricky as it can look a little too costumey. Choose a strong statement piece like the grommet and fringe shawl, or the button corset belt to add a touch to your outfit.

6) SUBTLE SHIMMER
Metallics were huge on the runway this fall, and Newport News has some fantastic key pieces to enhance your outfit with that little bit of sparkle.

7) THE NEW “IT” MINI
Everyone loves a mini skirt, but it’s hard to find one that’s winter-appropriate without looking old-fashioned. Newport News’ suede mini is just the answer; it looks great with layers and tights, or with a slim-fitting top, and comes in a variety of colors.

Primark Complete Fall/Winter Lookbook

Primark's released their Autumn/Winter collection a few weeks back and will be available in stores during September 2010.

They've seriously stepped up their game and seem to be right on trend from Military, Nudes, Lace-Up and Suede boots, Faux fur to Studs, Faux leather, Jumpsuits... Gah, I could go on forever.

Then I saw the khaki peep-toe boots and bags collection... If going crazy over Primark pieces this season is wrong, I don't wanna be right.
