In fact, a 2010 study by the U.S. Census Bureau found there were nearly one-million unmarried people over age 18 in America, which represents nearly 44 percent of the adult population.

But wait a minute; with so many people unmatched on February 14, surely they've come up with some great ways to spend Valentine's Day that don't involve wallowing in depression. After all, being single is pretty cool. At least the Census Bureau makes it clear you're not alone.

To make your day more enjoyable, here are a few ways to enjoy this romantic holiday without a committed partner.

1. Gang Up
If 44 percent of Americans log in as singletons, you must have a few other friends who also fly solo. Call 'em up and make some plans. To cut costs, purchase gift cards at such sites as GiftCardGranny for savings on dining out, seeing a movie, party supplies, or simply for gas that'll get you where you're going.

2. Namaste
Treat yourself to a yoga class and end the day all loosey-goosey and centered. You don't have to spend a fortune on a club membership to namaste your way to serenity, either. Many health clubs offer a couple free weeks or, at least, several gratis passes, that allow you to check them out. Some yoga studios also allow you to either sample their wares for free or pay for just one class. Find a yoga studio in your city with YogaFinder.com.

3. Go Country
You don't have to have a partner to line dance, so find the closest country bar and shake your booty. Even if you're not a country-music fan, you may find the dancing is a real kick.

4. Serve Dinner
Invite a friend or two over for dinner. You don't need candles, flowers and a fancy meal to have a fun evening. Pizza will do just fine, if you don't feel like cooking.

5. Watch a Movie
Sometimes it helps to wallow a bit, but you'll want to avoid romantic films like "When Harry Met Sally." Go for something that'll get the tears rolling without making you feel lonely. "Steel Magnolias" is always a good one for gals and "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" is a great guy's flick. Don't forget the pint of ice cream.

6. Celebrate
February 14 is also "Singles Appreciation Day" in the United States. It's an entire holiday dedicated to reminding romantic couples you don't have to be in a relationship to celebrate life. Get your single friends together -- both males and females -- to enumerate all the ways you each love your lifestyle.

7. Ignore the Hype
This day doesn't have to be any different than the rest of the year. Just ignore all the media hype and focus on "me time." Read a book, take a walk, cook up a storm...whatever makes you happy. Just don't read the newspaper or watch television.

I'm finally back after so long with a product review: the Murad Energizing Pomegranate Cleanser.

Usually I'm more of a drugstore skincare kind of girl. Having tried most brands I decided it was finally time to invest in a decent facial wash.
Drugstore gel washes have always left my skin tight, dull and dry (and yes - I've tried every brand from St. Ives and Neutrogena to Clean & Clear and L'oreal). Cream cleansers leave my skin feeling a bit icky like there is a film or product left behind.
So usually I end up washing my face less so as not to strip my skin of essential moisture and oils.

My skin type:
I'm in my mid twenties and used to suffer from acne as a teen. Luckily, now I only suffer from the occasional breakout and oily/combination skin. But I was definitely longing for that "glowy" and healthy skin look- sans make-up.

Enter the Murad Energizing Pomegranate Cleanser, and helloooooo: you cleanse and tone in one step.

Product info: ($26 for 5.1 fl Oz)
This dual-action foam cleanses and exfoliates with AHAs to leave skin clear, soft and smooth, while Energizing Pomegranate Complex™ infuses skin with a healthy glow.

Additional features and ingredients:
•Witch Hazel removes excess oil without stripping skin of its natural moisture (good bye harsh acne fighters!)
•Tones and tightens pores

The verdict:
As soon as I tried this face wash I noticed the difference compared to all other gel and cream cleansers I've used in the past. One pump is enough to leave your skin feeling soft and cleansed. But bear in mind, just like all other cleansers, this won't be enough to remove foundations and make-up, so I use my Pond's make-up remover before. However this cleanser does work great on removing natural oils, dirt and any other breakout causing skin impurities. It feels so light you could easily use this in the morning and at night.
The smell is also pleasantly fresh and fruity!

Is the higher price justified? Absolutely! I can honestly say I'm sold on Murad products. Even though I'm a budget beauty lover and rarely venture outside the drugstore, I feel like it's ok to spend a bit more if I can notice a difference.
You could aksi rationalize the price by the fact that you only need one pump of this product to wash your entire face and it will last you a few months. The bottle is quite large and and you won't need a separate toner-this really came in handy when I took this on vacation with me. Just fabulous!

What's your favorite facial cleanser and have you tried this one?

The beauty industry is filled with products and “miracle” creams promising to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. But if you're lucky enough to not have even gotten to the stage where wrinkles are significantly noticeable, why not work to prevent them?

Sleeping Beauty
Though it's difficult to change your usual sleeping habits, if you don’t sleep on your back—try to! Think of it this way: sleep lines are tough to get rid of. And though a good nights rest is needed for a youthful appearance, it doesn’t end there. Your position makes a difference when hitting the sack! Avoid sleeping on your face or side with your skin all scrunched up in your sheets. This will help prevent lines on your face, especially in areas prone to wrinkles.

Beautify Gently
When applying makeup or washing it off before bed, try to be gentle, specially around the eyes. Don’t rub around your eyes to wash out excessive eyeliner and mascara. Don’t use harsh towels, avoid vigorously scrubbing your face or stretching your skin daily to apply makeup in sensitive areas and take your time!

Like Mother, Like Daughter
How do you know if you are prone to wrinkles and in which areas? Look at an older family member’s face—especially your mother. If you suspect an upcoming battle with creases in your future, speak to your dermatologist about preventative measures like Botox.

Kiss Lip Lines Goodbye
Want to avoid lip lines? Don't drink from a straw repeatedly, smoke or constantly blow bubbles with bubble gum. Activities that cause you to pucker or purse your lips may result in added lines. If you are prone to lip lines— again observing family members to see if you might be genetically predisposed—, avoid pursing your lips. To further prevent lip lines, don't get electrolysis. It is a nonspecific heat probe, so as it’s killing the hair, it can inadvertently kill some collagen too. It’s rare, but it does happen. Try laser hair removal to remove hair or just bleach, thread, wax or shave.

Maintain Protection
It is a given that avoiding the sun and using sunscreen is one of the most effective anti-aging measures. However, many people forget to reapply. Sunscreen only lasts 2-3 hours, so keep a powder sunscreen in your bag and reapply throughout the day.

During the Fall 2012 Fashion Week we were able to preview some of the styles and trends for this season. There were dozens of hot shoe trends showcased in the different shows and we were able to gather that no matter what the trend or style there is one thing that is for certain this season, shoes will not be boring. From metallic colors to heavy embellishments, shoes this fall are unique and full of character. Here are some of the hottest trends in women's shoes that we saw that are expected to make their way to retail stores.

Strappy Shoes
Expect to see straps everywhere whether on t-strap pumps or ankle strap flats. There are dozens of styles in leather, velvet, and suede Some shoes like the Jessica Simpson Bansi, a gorgeous bone colored t-strap platform with a silver, sequined platform and heel, take the trend even further and combine it with glittery details.

Ankle Boots
One of the season’s absolute must-haves is a pair of ankle boots. They are extremely versatile and can be worn with skinny jeans, dresses, or skirts. They are also extremely comfortable and ideal for those who spend last season struggling finding knee-high boots for their toned calves. Ankle boots are showing up in solid colors, wedge or flat heels, or in different patterns, such as leopard prints. The KORS by Michael Kors Marden ankle boot has a small heel that is comfortable enough to walk in for hour, yet still adds a bit of height.

Pointy Pumps
One of the classics that is making a comeback this season is the classic, lady-like pointy-toe pump. You will see them in a range of colors and materials. Many designers are giving this eternal classic a trendy twist and making them in bold colors, eye-catching patterns, and the very trendy metallic cap toe. These BCBGeneration Cielo Pumps are a gorgeous example of an effective use of classic style paired with bold color.

Gold Accents
This fall season, shoes are looking very luxe with gold embellishments and accents. Bold colored ballet flats with gold heels have already been spotted on trendsetting celebrities like Kate Bosworth. Boots are also sporting this trend with gold metal accents and luxe hardware. Some, like the Steve Madden Boldd, are daring with eye-catching embellishments such as gold spikes.

The Slip-On
One of the biggest trends this fall that you definitely see on the streets is the slip-on loafer. It has already become very popular and can be seen everywhere. It is not a surprise that this shoe would become immensely popular because who wouldn’t like to wear their slippers to work or on a day out on town. Slip-on loafers come in every possible material, color, pattern, and style. One of my favorites is the Marc Jacobs Slip On Loafer in a gold sequin fabric. This style is very unique and can even be worn for going out when paired with a mini skirt or a party dress.
Suits are often swapped for tracksuits after a long day at work and tight jeans are sometimes swapped for sportswear just before sitting down for Sunday dinner. We dance round our living rooms in our tracksuits with our brand new Vax cleaners and dig them out of our wardrobes to do the gardening.

Given a bad name by characters like Little Britain’s Vicky Pollard in her offensive bright pink tracksuit top and blue bottoms, we tend to avoid actually leaving the house in sportswear, lest we run into a friend or colleague resulting in an embarrassing display of our lazy-wear.

However, with the arrival of the London 2012 Olympics, sport is on everyone’s minds. This is, of course, reflected in fashion: dressing down is on the up and it seems sportswear will be back in a big way. Now, more than ever before, big fashion names are collaborating with sportswear brands: Stella McCartney has designed Team GB’s London 2012 kit, for instance.

Adidas, the official sportswear of the London Olympics and the British team, has recruited pop star Katy Perry to be the new face of their sportswear range. The U.S. pop queen who bares her midriff as she dances with a troupe of female backing dancers, proves that sportswear can be sexy. In addition, British TV presenter and model Alexa Chung currently stars in Italian trainer brand Superga’s summer campaign.

Many designers’ collections are heavily influenced by sport, a trend that looks set to continue as the latest rounds of collections appear. Sportswear has officially been swiped from the running track and relocated to the catwalk, which renders former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham’s confession that she loves fashion too much to wear a tracksuit somewhat meaningless.

If sportswear is becoming a more acceptable form of attire, should employers allow tracksuits in the workplace? ‘Casual Fridays’ are growing in popularity as employers recognise the benefits they can bring to the business. Giving employees a day to express their individuality is an effective motivator and does not cost employers a penny.

In turn, employees feel more appreciated and more relaxed. This not only improves employee morale but also increases worker productivity – which typically wanes towards the end of the week.

It can be hard to find outfits that are flattering and comfortable in the heat, but there’s no need to be afraid of summer fashion. Just have a look at what’s available; prints, patterns, loose shapes and flowing dresses are all trends that look fab on curvy ladies.
Fashion isn’t about hiding; it’s about showing off your favourite bits. If shorts aren’t for you (or just not for the office!) then wide-cut linen trousers are a great option – they’re classic, versatile and can easily be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion. If you go for a dark colour, try teaming them with a feminine neutral – or pastel – blouse for a sharp work look.
Finding a summer top that you feel comfortable in doesn’t have to be tricky either. If you like something loose-fitting, a white smock top looks effortless and stylish over a pair of cropped trousers. It’s a great look for ladies who want to draw attention away from the tummy to the legs.
If you’d rather opt for a head-to-toe look, maxi dresses are the best friend of women everywhere. They skim curves and create a long silhouette, as well as being a cool option for when the summer temperatures really heat up.
Swimwear can sometimes be daunting (along with the thought of toning up our bods for the beach) but there’s no need to worry – with a range of on-trend, flattering plus size swimwear for women available online, it’s easy to find a style to suit your individual shape. A halterneck is perfect for balancing out a full chest and a tankini is a great option for those who want to keep their stomachs covered up.
The designer swimwear collection at isme.com features great plus size swimwear, and – whether you’re a pear or an apple – you’ll have plenty of choice, so why not have a browse today to find your perfect swimwear look in time for summer?
From SPF to foods and exercise, Dr. Murad suggests effective ways to reduce cellulite and protect skin throughout body-baring months.

Tip 1: Start Wearing SPF
No one is ever too young to protect themselves from the sun. The general consensus in the medical community is that the majority of sun damage occurs before a person turns 18 years old. Younger skin is much more sensitive to sun exposure and free radical damage. And many signs of skin damage are cumulative as we age and will likely not be visible until you are much older. I recommend everyone wear SPF on a daily basis because most sun damage occurs during daily activities. This incidental exposure includes more than just direct sunlight on bare skin while you’re tanning. Light also reflects off surfaces, comes through building and car windows and penetrates through clothing.

google_ad_width = 300;
google_ad_height = 250;
//-->

Tip 2 Eat More Eggs
When weakened skin and connective tissue can no longer hold fat invisibly in place, it migrates up through the skin to become cellulite. To build healthy new cells with strong membranes, your body needs lecithin, which is found in many foods – including eggs, soy, spinach, peanuts, apples, cauliflower, and potatoes.

Tip 3 Try Dry Skin Brushing
This simple technique is one of the most effective exfoliating treatments for skin with cellulite and stretch marks. Use a body brush or exfoliating gloves to remove old dead and dying cells, while simultaneously increasing the blood flow to the affected areas and stimulating the body’s ability to remove built-up toxins.

Tip 4 Add More Raw Fruits and Vegetables to Your Grocery List
Applying topical lotions containing SPF is only one way to protect skin from the sun; select raw fruits and vegetables, as well as dietary supplements, can also help defend skin from the sun and the resulting damage. Add food such as broccoli, tomatoes, cranberries and spinach to your grocery list and take a supplement containing Pomegranate Extract for maximum benefits.

Tip 5 Shape Up Your Self-Image
Since you’ll soon be spending more time showing off your arms and legs, take simple steps to reshape your body into a point of pride by doing some exercise you enjoy at least a few times a week. Getting in shape is more than just a matter of physical exercise, getting in shape will help you feel confident and comfortable as you show off more skin.

Tip 6 Get Your EFA’s (Essential Fatty Acids)

Add extra healthy fats to your diet, like flaxseed oil, olive oil, seeds and oil from cold-water fish (like black cod and salmon) to attract water to dehydrated cells and prevent future water loss. Healthy water-tight cells mean better overall skin health including a reduction in the skin damage cycle that leads to cellulite and sagging skin.

Tip 7 Discover Botanicals and Essential Oils
To reduce cellulite, check products for effective botanicals and essential oils such as Aloe Vera, Basil, Cat’s Claw, Cedarwood, Tiger’s Herb, Fennel, Ginger, Grapefruit, Grape Seed, Mint, Pine, Pomegranate, and Tea (black, red, white, and green).

Tip 8 Stretch
In addition to helping your flexibility and enhancing your fitness routine, stretching, including yoga, can have the added benefit of stress relief – which means less cell damage. Optimizing your cellular health is key to look your best in the long and the short term.

Tip 9 Shop Smart
When purchasing a sunscreen, be sure to look for four key basic features: full spectrum sun protection for UVA and UVB radiation, antioxidants to neutralize aging free radicals, anti-inflammatory agents to prevent redness and soothe skin, and hydrating ingredients to replace moisture loss due to sun exposure.

Tip 10 Adopt an Inclusive Health Lifestyle
A healthy body and complexion are a reflection of total wellness. Inclusive Health, a 3-prong approach to health through topical, internal and emotional self care, provides your body the opportunity to build youthful vitality at the cellular level. By optimizing these three environments, your body and spirit will have the best opportunity to thrive.
I got a few other polishes and will be reviewing. Some I liked, some I didn't, but I LOVE this nail polish! The consistency is a bit thick but:

In the June issue, Nicole Richie talks to Glamour about why she thinks she is the best hairstylist on the planet, tweeting about her rap career, if husband Joel Madden notices when she changes her hair and much much more!

This season, the mom of Harlow and Sparrow, is a designer mentor on Fashion Star, and she just launched her third fashion line, the Nicole Richie Collection, on QVC. Her hairstylist and dear friend for more than 10 years, Andy Lecompte, styled her hair for Glamour’s June beauty story.

And check out what Nicole shared with Glamour in the interview below:

GLAMOUR: Your waves today looked gorgeous. But that’s with pro help. How do you get that look at home?

NICOLE RICHIE: I have naturally curly hair, so “natural” beach waves are not so natural for me. I like to braid my hair at night and then let it out the next day. And I also curl my hair with a flatiron. I actually think I’m the best hairstylist on the planet.

GLAMOUR: Are you serious?

NR: Yes, I’m very serious. I’m mixed, and it’s work to do my hair, so I learned how to do it well myself. I would be a hairstylist. I actually like to go to the salon and blow out people’s hair.

ANDY LECOMPTE: She teaches us what to do.

GLAMOUR: That is so funny. Do people tip you?

NR: No one tips me. [Laughs.] Or pays. That’s the next step.

GLAMOUR: Does Joel [Madden, Richie’s husband] notice when you change your hair?

NR: Joel noticed this Valentine’s Day that I had bangs. He looked at me and was like, “You got bangs, I see.” I was like, “I’ve had bangs since I was 22 years old!” [Laughs.]

GLAMOUR: Joel once tweeted, “What’s your favorite app?” And you replied, “The How to Make Your Husband Go Out So You Can Watch Reality TV in Peace app.” Hilarious.

NR: You know, Joel barely speaks all day, and then out of nowhere he has 9 million things to say, only for 30 minutes, from 9:00 to 9:30 P.M., when I’m watching Real Housewives.

GLAMOUR: You also tweeted, “My rap career is on the rise.”

NR: It is! Just wait and see. I’m the best! Actually, I cannot rhyme cat without going to rhymezone.com. I’m so bad at it!

GLAMOUR: You went through a period where you were super thin and everyone was commenting on it. Now you have two kids and look awesome. How do you feel about your body?

NR: I feel [gets all fake dramatic]…great about my body. [Laughs.] You know, aesthetically I can be picky, but I choose not to. I’ve taken huge leaps. I’m proud of that. I work out, and I get lots of sleep, and so I feel great. And that is most important.

GLAMOUR: We like to think of you as a trendsetter. Do you think of yourself that way?

NR: No! [Laughs.] My world is small. I have my circle of 10 friends, my kids, my family. None of them call me a trendsetter.

GLAMOUR: Now you’ve got the Nicole Richie Collection on QVC. Any advice for women starting their own business?

NR: Study your craft. Know it well before you jump in. I wait all the time. Because I don’t want to just put my name on something and then release it. What’s the point of that?

GLAMOUR: What’s your absolute favorite moment in every day?

NR: When I wake up at 5:30 A.M. and it’s still dark out. I love, love being alone. It helps me to be a better mom to my kids and a better person at work.

On dating: “I don’t get asked out. This past year, I haven’t been home, so who’s going to ask me?”

“I don’t go out very often. I prefer to stay home and have a nice little beverage and watch television.” “My glass of wine and I are besties.”

Do you make friends easily? “No. It’s hard to open up to people because often they’re more curious than they actually care about you.”

On getting older: “I will not put a needle in my body unless I have a medical reason,” she says, “but ask me in 10 years. Right now, I’m like, ‘I’m going to embrace it,’ but … I’m probably going to want to have something done. I have no doubt.”
My shape is different. When I got down to 95 pounds, I was muscles, like a little brick house, but skin and bones. When I gained it back, it went to completely different areas.” Like the rear? “No, I’d be happy if my ass got bigger. All the weight that left my chest went to my side hip, my stomach.”

She’s wary of another role that would require a body transformation. “I’m not going to say I’d look forward to it, but if an offer came along, I’d do it.”
With stars switching between short and long styles, and the utilization of extensions during Awards season and Fashion Week, more women everywhere are looking to be a part of this transformative trend. However, most of us don’t understand the pitfalls of this style or how to maintain healthy hair in the process. Here, Gocha Hawkins, celebrity hairstylist and makeup artist and owner of Gocha Salon, shares her insight and gives the lowdown on all things extensions.

Be In the Know
Before getting extensions, know the facts. It’s important to take all information into consideration before making a decision, and learning from a professional is the best way to know that you are not making a mistake.

Most all experts agree that hair must be between three and five inches long for effective extensions to be applied. If hair is shorter, allow more time for growth; be patient, it’s worth it!

Maintenance calls for appointments every six to eight weeks. Know when the extensions should be removed; monitor for dryness and general wear and tear.

Treat extensions like real hair. Most women are hesitant to apply products or wash synthetic hair, worried that they may end up damaged. Extensions need to be maintained, just like natural hair.

DON’T: “Whatever you do, don’t apply your first set of extensions yourself. No amount of YouTube videos can do justice to the amount of work associated with the task, and you should entrust your hair care professional with the job. No reputable hair stylist would ever glue extensions to the head, so keep that in mind as a red flag,” Gocha explains.

Take Care
This goes for both real and synthetic! One thing that women forget when using hair extensions is to take care of their real hair. Extensions are for added length and body, and will last a long time if they are treated correctly. However, they can also cause damage to real hair if they are carelessly applied and removed.

Extensions: Comb and brush extensions gently. Always apply and remove carefully. When it comes to products, treat extensions as real hair. Don’t be afraid of hair spray! Using professional hair care and styling products keeps them in better condition for a longer amount of time.

Real Hair: Always make sure there is enough time to apply and remove extensions without damaging hair; carelessness is unacceptable. Keeping natural hair healthy should always be top of mind. Misuse of extensions can lead to baldness.

DON’T: Gocha points out, “Neglecting your natural hair for the sake of synthetic hair seems a little silly, but many women don’t consider the damage they are doing to their own scalps because they are covered by the extensions. Keep in mind that for extensions to look healthy and natural, your real hair needs to be in prime condition, not just for aesthetic purposes, but for overall health.”

From healthy, beautiful skin to lower stress levels, the pomegranate is a valuable resource in helping jumpstart your complexion and your mood. Dr. Murad, M.D., FAAD, Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCLA and author of The Water Secret: The Cellular Breakthrough to Look and Feel 10 Years Younger, has shared six ways pomegranates can help your skin look younger and your body feel healthier. It will have you wanting pomegranates for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

1. Build Youth Back into Your Skin
Summer berries aren’t the only way to get your antioxidant fix. The pomegranate, a winter fruit, has powerful antioxidants that assist in the cellular renewal process and help cells stay plump with water. It also boosts anti-aging agents, helping to maintain skin’s collagen levels, and fights oxidative stress that ages us internally and externally. You can eat pomegranate to reap the benefits but also look for topical products that contain Pomegranate Extract to help fight free radical damage and promote overall skin health.

2. Decrease Inflammation
Winter weather is known to inflict a mild inflammatory reaction in exposed skin, like the face and hands. Studies have shown that Pomegranate Extract significantly reduces the activity of proteins that cause inflammation. It also reduces the production of pro-inflammatory compounds produced by cells isolated from cartilage.

3. Increase Your Oxygen Intake
Exercise is great way to increase oxygen flow. However, the cold winter weather can make it challenging to get daily exercise. Research shows that eating organic pomegranate seeds and drinking pure pomegranate juice can increase oxygen levels to the heart and skin cells, making the skin look fresh and smooth--without having to hit the gym!
4. Minimize Cultural Stress
A study found that having pomegranate juice every day resulted in lower stress hormones and a reduction in blood pressure, which leads to healthier, happier skin. Volunteers in the study reported feeling less distressed and more enthusiastic in their general well-being after consuming pomegranate juice.

5. Boost Your Natural SPF
Many people think that sun damage is only prevalent during summer months, yet the sun’s harmful UV rays can damage skin even through overcast weather. One of the most important foods to combat sun damage is pomegranate, which contain polyphenols, like ellagic acid. Murad’s clinical trials show roughly a 25% improvement in SPF when a pomegranate extract supplement is added to a diet because it boosts natural sunscreen levels. If topical sunscreen also contains pomegranate extract, there is an additional improvement in SPF by 20%. Studies have also shown the application of pomegranate to the skin minimizes the risk of developing skin cancer.

6. Help Banish Breast Cancer
Murad recently partnered with City of Hope to help raise funds for breast and women’s cancers research, education and treatment. So it only makes sense that the internationally acclaimed hospital would find the pomegranate to be as amazing of a superfruit as Murad did. City of Hope researchers identified six chemicals in the pomegranate that suppress aromatase — a substance in the body that helps produce estrogen. About 70 percent of breast cancers need estrogen to grow, so pomegranate is a prime candidate as a breast-cancer-blocking super food. Other scientists have also detected two substances in the fruit with the potential to fight both colon cancer and diabetes.

Oh, and in case you want to do more then just eat pomegranates, Dr. Murad also has a whole pomegranate skincare line.
To banish frizz, follow these simple and effective tips from Nick:

Get the right haircut: go for a strong shape that is easy to maintain on a daily basis. Any cut that is short to mid-length with a good solid shape will suit extremely frizzy (either curly, straight or grey) hair perfectly. These cuts won’t alter your hair texture, but the strong shapes will get you looking polished and pulled together, and controlling frizz will be much more manageable, making your styling quick and simple.

Style using a silicone based defrizz serum: the smoothing properties of silicone defrizz along with a moisture-based styling or curl crème to lock in curls without the dryness and without the frizz. Make sure to focus the defrizz serum towards the mid-lengths and especially the ends Frizz occurs on the oldest, and therefore most damaged part of the hair, which is of course towards the ends. Focusing your serum application in this way ensures you keep the frizz at bay.

Retro Salon Tip: This is on the of the best solutions for fighting frizz and is a bit of a throwback to old school salon tricks, but it still works better than any newfangled product I’ve seen. Pack a shower cap with leave in conditioner (a little more than you would normally use). Keep the shower cap on damp hair for 10 minutes, then remove the cap and style as you normally would – no need to rinse. This is a great way to lock-in the moisture-giving benefits of the product into the hair shaft for added support. Your hair will be richly moisturized, soft, smooth, shiny, and have more malleability, making it much easier for you to style. You can even add a little styling crème into the mix, which will give your hair added hold and texture.
For thicker or curly hair, use 2-3 drops all over to smooth out and control the frizz year-round. Be sure to continue to integrate this product into warmer months for this type of hair. One great frizz eliminator product is CHI's Silk Infusion.

3. Leave conditioner in longer: When washing your hair, leave your conditioner in for 2-3 minutes for maximum winter benefits and to trap in the much needed moisture during these harsh months.

4. Special conditioning treatment at salon or at home: By applying a treatment such as Loreal's Power Dose, hair regains a natural, soft and silky feel. This treatment can be applied year-round.

5. Shed the length: Going into spring and summer, shorter styles will emerge from hibernation. Lengths around the shoulder featuring big curls featuring lots of movement and big waves will be the style of the season.

"Hair is changing really fast moving from season to season," says Joey. "From a color perspective we will see big chunks under the hair with not too many on top resulting in a more natural look yet brightening the face."

Schutz Layla Platform Sandal

Every season shoe trends change. Today I introduce to you the brand Schutz.
Originally, Schutz shoes were boots for men, but after women discovered their sturdiness and fashionable aesthetic and fell in love, Schutz shoes expanded to include high quality women’s footwear that balances fashion trends with innovative design.

The current collection of Schutz shoes includes a variety of separate design lines that will suit any taste. The Anabela line is characterized by tall wedge heels, but incorporates a variety of different styles from formal to professional to casual. Some are black patent leather with silver studs adorning the wedges, some are snakeskin wedge pumps and others are less formal with cork wedges and thin strappy designs.

Schutz shoes also offers a collection of flats in bright colors and various materials, as well as a line of flat sandals in the popular strappy “Greek” design. They also make heeled shoes of all types – high heels, medium heels, and wedges. The special Scarpin line of pumps in muted colors includes a multitude of materials, including snakeskin, leather with cutouts, patterned fabrics and suede.

Now let's get down to the eye candy already with a few droolworthy picks for Fall...

The Schutz Layla Platform sandal (pictured above) is a super sexy ankle bootie that will take you from summer to autumn. From the gorgeous brown tone, laser cut style and lace up front, I can only describe it as a head turner.

Schutz Anastasia Pump

The Schutz Anastasia Pump may look like a more conservative shoe but upon closer observation you'll notice it incorporates 2 super hot trends for this season: a mocasin style and chunky heel. (Leather upper and sole)

And lastly the Schutz Andrea Platform Pump in black or purple. Obviously I'm loving the plum version more, since it's so hard to find a classy colored shoe. The deep purple and super chunky heel just are just fab!

The one thing about bold wardrobe pieces is that they can be hard to mix and match for different looks. Low and behold: the red bodycon / pencil skirt! For a while I would always stick to "safe" outfit combinations by pairing it with a white top and heels, but here are my 5 ideas for outfits using the same exact red skirt:
I would even go so far as to say that the second most important detail of someones face that needs to look flawless (after skin) are the brows!

Shaping them at home takes years of experience... Well it did in my case, since I began tweezing in my teens. See, for some reason I absolutely refuse to go to a random place and let them do my brows. No, I'm much more of a do it myself kinda gal.
Getting gorgeous brows is so much easier thanks to kits and stencils created by Anastasia of Beverly Hills. She is known to have shaped the brows of some pretty famous faces, including Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Oprah as well as hip up-and-comers like Diana Agron, Selena Gomez and Kristen Cavalari.

I've already tried the Anastasia Brow Fix Wax Pencil which I absolutely fell in love with! And for the longest time I've been wanting to try the Beauty Express brow kit. My fellow ladies with dark hair and brows, know that filling them in can be so tricky. Getting the shape right and NOT overfilling are the biggest challenges for me.

Solution?

The Beauty Express brow kit (retails for $39.50) is an all-in-one kit with step-by-step instructions that will guide you to the perfect brows. The kit includes brow wax cream, stencils, brow powder, eyeshadow powder and an angled brush. Simply select the stencil that most closely matches your natural shape, apply the wax cream, then the brow powder, remove the stencil and voilà! It’s that easy!

Don’t believe me? Check out the video below where Anastasia herself will show you how to use it:

"Beauty Express" brow-kit instructional video from Anastasia Beverly Hills on Vimeo.

Before I get carried away by the results, let me also mention that the brand recently also expanded to include more colorful make up like eyeshadows, bronzers and lipglosses.
If you remember a couple of years ago, Sigma introduced eyeshadow and blushes. Back then they weren't so popular, but this time around they brand really seems to have gotten things right.

They introduced three new eyeshadow palettes: Bare, Dare & Flare. These palettes retail for $35.00 each and contain 8 eyeshadow and a full size dual-ended Sigma brush. From swatches and review I've seen so far the shadows are really well pigmented and look best with a base underneath.
Whether it be nude, purple, navy blue or even.... NEON!

Designers like Jimmy Choo unveiled several neon pieces this season that are sure to add instant edge to any outfit. I'm not sure if it's because the look is hot right now and if my eyes have gotten used to the shade, but neon pops of color are definitly a winner in my book. Of course, like any trend, you gotta know how to pull it off with the right choices.

Hathaway talks about co-hosting the Oscars and responds to James Franco’s comments: “How did I take it?” she says mildly about Franco’s comments on Letterman. “I let James know that a whirling dervish is a more flattering comparison than a Tasmanian devil. I called him, and we e-mailed a bit.” “In the grand scheme of things, I got to have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I met great people, wore beautiful clothes. And I got to put on a show. I don’t see a downside. Anyone who disliked my personality probably disliked my personality before the Oscars.”
Talking about fashion, Anne says she “feels like the luckiest girl in the world when I get to wear all these glamorous clothes,” but away from the red carpet, she is decidedly more moderate: “I’ve become a lot more specific about what I love and why I’m doing it,” she says.

On her boyfriend, Adam Shulman: “So far, it’s worked out great,” she says matter-of-factly, observing that she used to get caught up in the intensity of a romance. “Which has its wonderful side, of course,” she adds with a half shrug, “but also it was exhausting, and sometimes it would freak me out. Mellow doesn’t always make for a good story, but it makes for a good life.”
